Green Phase: YMCA Membership Updates

GreenPhaseYMCAPittsburgh

With Governor Wolf’s announcement today that Allegheny County will transition into the green phase beginning next Friday, June 5, we want to provide an update on where the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh stands.

Over the last few weeks, our Association and branch staffs have been hard at work preparing facilities and making adjustments to welcome back members when the time comes. As branches open, the Y will implement physical distancing practices in all operations by controlling the number of members allowed in the facility, instituting indoor traffic patterns, rearranging physical areas and fitness equipment, and placing trained staff in positions to enforce these protocol and policies.

Our eight branches will not all be reopened simultaneously. We will provide a more complete update next week with a timetable of how we plan to strategically open the branches in three phases. This will ensure we are able to meet state/local health guidelines while providing a safe member experience and allow our staff to get comfortable with new regulations.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back, but want to make clear things will look and be different at our Ys in the days and weeks to come. Safety of our staff and members is our top priority and all decisions will be made with that in mind.

Thank you for your cooperation and your patience during this phase of transition, and most importantly for your decision to Stick with the Y. Please keep an eye on your email and branch social media for updates next week.

We look forward to seeing you very soon – at the Y!
