"A 54-year-old roofing company headquartered in central Pennsylvania celebrated the grand opening of its new office in western Pennsylvania Saturday, doing so while also donating and installing a new roof at a local YMCA facility in an effort to give back to the community.
Bachman's Roofing is a family-operated company with over 50 years of experience in roofing, exteriors, and solar solutions. The company is headquartered in Wernersville, Pennsylvania but, has been in the Pittsburgh market for the past five years.
"We're planting roots here," Greg Mcnulty, general manager for Bachman's Roofing said. "We're community-based, we like to get involved. We do a lot for veterans and people in need. We do things unlike everyone else."
On the same day as its office opening festivities were held in Murrsyville, the company donated and installed a brand new roof at the Sampson Family YMCA in Monroeville.
"It shows a testament they have to the community," Mayor of Turtle Creek Borough Adam Forgie said at the event. "I hope their success keeps going, especially when you have a business like that who's willing to help in community efforts like at the YMCA."
Forgie continued, saying, "People wanna feel safe and they wanna know that their kids are in a safe, structured environment like they are at school. The YMCA is more for after school activities but there are not enough around. We need to support those groups."
Bachman's COO Andrew Hudson said in a statement before the celebration that the YMCA project reflects the company's ongoing commitment to supporting the communities the company serves.
"We’re thrilled to expand our presence into Pittsburgh and look forward to building strong relationships with homeowners and businesses in the area,” Hudson said in the statement. “Being able to give back by helping the Sampson Family YMCA is a meaningful way for us to mark this milestone and show our appreciation to the community.”
The company said this fall, it will be donating and installing another roof for a local veteran and plans to host a golf outing where every penny raised will go to UPMC Children’s Hospital Oncology Department for pediatric cancer research in September.
"Go Bachman's," Forgie exclaimed."
