FALL II AQUATICS AT THE THELMA LOVETTE YMCA
MAKE A SPLASH THIS FALL!
From a child’s first experiences in the water to developing stronger swimming skills as an adult, YMCA swim lessons help participants build confidence, learn important water safety skills, and develop a lifelong love of being active in the water. With programs for infants, preschoolers, school-age children, and adults, there’s an opportunity for every stage of the swimming journey.
PARENT & CHILD SWIM LESSONS | AGES 6 MONTHS–3 YEARS
Start your child’s swimming journey together! Parent & Child lessons introduce infants and toddlers to the water through fun, confidence-building activities while helping them become comfortable in an aquatic environment. Children begin exploring body positions, bubbles, movement, and basic water safety skills, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of active supervision.
Levels include:
- Level A – Water Discovery
- Level B – Water Exploration
Parent must participate in the water with their child during class.
PRESCHOOL SWIM LESSONS | AGES 3–5
Give your preschooler a strong foundation in the water with age-appropriate instruction designed to build confidence, comfort, and essential swimming skills. Through engaging activities, games, and practice, swimmers progress from water acclimation and movement to stamina and introductory stroke skills.
Levels include:
- Level 1 – Water Acclimation
- Level 2 – Water Movement
- Level 3 – Water Stamina
SCHOOL-AGE SWIM LESSONS | AGES 5–12
Help your child develop the skills and confidence they need to be safer and more comfortable around water. YMCA swim lessons focus on water safety and swimming competency while giving children opportunities to build endurance, improve technique, and progress through increasingly advanced skills.
Levels include:
- Level 1 – Water Acclimation
- Level 2 – Water Movement
- Level 3 – Water Stamina
- Level 4 – Stroke Introduction
- Level 5 – Stroke Development
As swimmers progress, they'll build stronger swimming techniques while developing safe water habits, confidence, and skills that support a lifetime of physical activity.
ADULT SWIM LESSONS | AGES 13+
It’s never too late to become more comfortable and confident in the water. Adult swim lessons provide a supportive environment to build water safety skills, overcome a fear of the water, improve swimming technique, or continue developing your abilities.
Levels include:
- Level 2 – Water Movement
- Level 4 – Stroke Introduction
Whether you're learning new skills or refining your stroke, YMCA instructors can help you progress at your own pace.
BUILD CONFIDENCE. LEARN WATER SAFETY. KEEP SWIMMING.
At the Thelma Lovette YMCA, swim lessons are about more than learning to swim. They help participants develop confidence, healthy habits, water safety awareness, and skills they can carry with them for a lifetime.
