From greeting members at the front desk to mentoring kids after school, our volunteers bring energy, passion, and community spirit to every corner of the Y. Whether you love sports, swimming, childcare, or simply lending a helping hand, there’s a volunteer role that fits your skills and schedule.

Youth Program Volunteer

Passionate about working with kids? Volunteer in our youth programs and make a lasting difference. From reading books and leading games to helping with homework or sharing a special skill, you’ll spark curiosity and confidence in every child you meet.

Sports Coaches

Bring your love of the game to the next generation! Coach youth basketball, soccer, T-ball, or baseball and teach more than just skills—you’ll inspire teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence both on and off the field.

Swim Program Volunteer

Make a splash in the lives of young swimmers! Assist with lessons, time a swim meet, or help our aquatics team as kids learn essential water safety and swimming skills they’ll use for life.

Nursery Program Volunteer

Annual Campaign Volunteer

Healthy Kids Week

YMCA Turkey Trot

Join Pittsburgh’s favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition. Volunteers help with race registration, packet pick-up, directing runners, and celebrating participants as they cross the finish line. You’ll be part of a community tradition that combines fitness, family fun, and supporting neighbors in need.

YMCA Triathlon & Janney’s Partnership Events

Three Rivers Arts Festival

Camp Clean-Up Weekends

Love the outdoors? Grab some gloves and help get our camps ready for summer and winter. Projects include trail clearing, painting, organizing, and sprucing up spaces so families and kids can enjoy safe, fun adventures.
