The Lighthouse Project is housed inside the Homewood-Brushton YMCA. The project helps teens explore their creativity in a state-of-the-arts media arts facility, where they’re mentored by teaching artists.

Based inside the Homewood-Brushton YMCA, The Lighthouse Project is a safe exciting place for young people to explore their interests in music, film, photography, art and fashion. In each of our media arts programs, experienced teaching artists inspire and empower students to find their voice, and build transferrable technical skills that position them for success after high school.

Lighthouse Project media arts programs are offered during three 10-week project sessions:

  • Fall – September through December
  • Winter – January through March
  • Spring – April through June

Each program includes:

  • Curriculum-based instruction
  • Homework help and college prep
  • Hands-on access to industry standard technology and software
  • Studio time in our world class recording facility
  • Artist development and mentorship
  • City-wide presentation and performance opportunities
  • Daily snack and dinner for all students
  • Transportation home within a 3-mile radius
