THE LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT
The Lighthouse Project is a safe, exciting place for young people to explore their interests in music, videography, dance, visual art and fashion. In each of our media arts programs, experienced teaching artists inspire and empower students to find their voice, and build transferable technical skills that position them for success after high school.
The Audio Arts & Visual Arts Clubs meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the school year. These clubs serve as creative havens where teens can learn, collaborate, and hone their artistic talents. Club participants learn how to use industry standard equipment and software and work together to create music, videos and artwork to present and perform around their community. Teaching artists introduce project ideas and make space for youth who want to work on projects of their own design. Enrollment remains open throughout the year. Consistent attendance is encouraged but not required.
The Audio Arts Club includes the following activities:

Courses offer in-depth skill building and expert instruction in a specific artform or discipline. Courses are typically 10-weeks long and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Each year we offer a variety of courses in subjects such as Deejaying, Beatmaking, Youtubing and Photoshop. Courses require registration, consistent attendance, and have specific start and end dates. Contact us at [email protected] to learn about upcoming courses.
The dance crew provides opportunities for teens to learn current techniques in hip-hop dance and work together under the direction of a professional dance educator in creating original choreography. The dance crew is open to teens of all skill levels from beginners to experienced dancers. The dance crew recruits new members twice a year in the fall and winter.
